What Is It?
Enthroning the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a way to continue on your spiritual journey. The Enthronement is a way to increase your love and devotion for Jesus and bring abundant graces upon you, your family, your friends and all aspects of your life! You can enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus in your home, your office, over your vocation, over your business….allow Jesus to be King and Head of your life! The Sacred Heart is King of the individual, the family and the human race. The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in the home is the recognition of the Sacred Heart as King of the family. He is King of the home by divine appointment, conquest and excellence, but He desires to be such by our own personal choice. The Enthronement is more than a mere blessing of a Sacred Heart picture or the mere dedication of a family to the Divine Heart. It is a way of life. It is the recognition of the royal power of Jesus Christ over the family which pledges to live in union with the Sacred Heart by love, grace and obedience to His commandments. In this way, the Enthronement brings countless graces and blessings on the family and sanctifies it through the family, society.

Where does Enthronement take place?
It is intended for homes, schools, convents, institutions, parishes, dioceses, cities, states and nations. Newlyweds and those contemplating marriage are especially invited to place their homes in the heart of Christ in this manner, thereby assuring themselves of special graces when dealing with everyday problems and difficulties.

Why Is It So Vital?
It stabilizes the family, the foundation of the church and state; whoever rules the family rules society. It sanctifies the family, creates in the home the Catholic atmosphere and the spirit of piety, fosters vocations to the higher life, brings back the wayward members, helps and consoles the members in time of trial, mourning, etc. In short, it makes the home thoroughly Christian.

How Is It Carried Out?
The family makes arrangements with St. Thomas Enthronement coordinator, Brenda Lloyd at [email protected]. She will schedule a suitable date and time. If possible, participants should try to attend a parish Mass and receive Holy Communion the morning of the Enthronement. Those attending Mass are inviting Jesus to their home as an act of love and reparation. Soon after your Enthronement date is confirmed, the Enthronement team will present the family with a comprehensive preparation packet. This will walk through the necessary series of specific steps that will make the home enthronement space truly 'ready'. It also includes recommendations regarding inviting friends and family, hosting a gathering following the ceremony, and how to integrate children (even the youngest) into the activities. Ensure this day is one of the outstanding events of the family life – one long to be remembered. The greater the solemnity, the better. Even though your home has been consecrated to the Sacred Heart, you may still have the Enthronement, as the two are not the same. Note: On the first Sunday of each month, priests will bless images of the Sacred Heart at all Masses.

The Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart given to St. Margaret MaryI will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life. I will establish peace in their families. I will bless every home in which an image of My Heart is exposed and honored. I will console them in all their difficulties. I will be their refuge during life and especially at the hour of death. I will shed abundant blessings upon all their undertakings. Sinners shall find in My Heart a fountain and boundless ocean of mercy. Tepid souls shall become fervent. Fervent souls shall rise speedily to great perfection. I will give to priests the power of touching the hardest hearts. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart never to be blotted out. I promise you, in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all who communicate on the First Friday of the month for nine consecutive months the grace of final penitence; they shall not die in My displeasure nor without their last Sacraments: “My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.”
