St. Thomas the Apostle's goal is that every parishioner and/or visitor has a life changing encounter with Jesus. Participation in Alpha is one way the Parish hopes to facilitate this encounter. We also strive for a hospitable and invitational culture that shows all parishioners that they are loved and welcomed. Through OCIA, those who are interested may take steps to become members of the Catholic Church.
The Catechism quotes Pope John Paul II: "The Church and the world have a great need for Eucharistic worship. Jesus awaits us in this sacrament of love. Let us not refuse the time to go to meet him in adoration, in contemplation full of faith, and open to making amends for the serious offenses and crimes of the world. Let our adoration never cease." CCC, 1380
Every vocation in the Church comes from and through Christ Jesus. It is he who calls. Spending time in Eucharistic Adoration with our Divine Lord and Friend is a good place to go to ask what he wants with our life. Why not spend some time each week in adoration, in union, in contemplation of the Lord present in the Eucharist? For more information about Eucharistic Adoration at St. Thomas the Apostle, contact Rob Weierman at [email protected].
The Catholic Church, founded by Jesus Christ, continues to serve millions of peoples by helping them answer life's most important questions and be leading them to the fullness of happiness.
To become Catholic, a person embarks on a process known as OCIA: Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. During OCIA adults are introduced gradually into the beliefs, worship and life of the Christian. Each participant has a fully initiated Catholic sponsor to walk him/ her through this process.
Anyone interested is invited to find out about Jesus Christ, the Church He founded and meaning that only He can provide. It is always a joyous occasion when a person falls in love with Jesus and chooses to learn more about becoming Catholic.
Periodic theme-based teen retreats, annual family retreats, seasonal Parish retreats are offered. They offer precious moments to encounter God and take stock of our lives. Retreats are meaningful opportunities for prayer, reflection and renewal of spirit.
