Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
This is Jesus' invitation to discipleship in Matthew 11:28-30.

A dynamic conversation between Matt Fradd and Monsignor Louie Merosne, Pastor of the Cathedral of St. Anne in Anse-a-Veau, Haiti. (Video time: 13 minutes)
About 30 minutes, the discussion begins at the four-minute mark.
This video offers insights into the foundational principles and values of the French Revolution - a shocking rupture from the past and is, in Holland’s view, a decisive moment in all of world history.
There are helpful observations on The Declaration of the Man (1789) and the equally important, but often overlooked, The Constitution of the Clergy (1790). As the historian Simon Schama argues the Constitution is “the beginning of a holy war” in France...a ‘holy war’ that appears to continue as evidenced by the blasphemous and mocking parody at the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Yet Holland argues that the rights and principles of the French Revolution were bred of deeply held Christian assumptions. How does this work?
At the end of the video Sandbrook makes a very important point regarding “Holland’s Gambit” - that Tom Holland views the revolutions and counter-revolutions of Modernity as a struggle between two kinds of Christians. This is a very clarifying insight into Holland’s interpretation of Western history and Modernity!
The 17th century “slave of the slaves,” St. Peter Claver dedicated his life to caring for the needs of slaves as they arrived in Cartagena from Africa.
According to St. Peter Clever, social justice includes and prioritizes evangelization, a mission which flies in the face of Immanuel Kant's argument that religion is basically resolvable into ethics.
