Each Spring St. Thomas the Apostle Parish organizes an annual Family retreat focused on theme-based, faith-filled and fun-filled events/activities/tracks/presenters. One of the great challenges and tragedies today is all the divisiveness in our world and culture, which spills over into family life. 2026's parish family retreat will explore Jesus’s prayer in John 17 – “May they be one.” There is a specific call to unity with God in this prayer, which is then to create unity with each other, especially in the vocational dynamic of the home. Our retreat master for the couple's portion of the retreat will be David Calavitta.

Four retreats happen concurrently.

And yes, there will be time for paintballing, ziplining and rock climbing! St. Thomas the Apostle will make actual Pinerock Camp and Retreat Center accommodation reservations based on your online registration info. *Deluxe-style lodging is a cabin or hotel style accommodation with larger beds, linens and towels provided. There are kitchenettes, living areas and private bathrooms in each cabin.

**Basic cabins are free-standing buildings with bunks in several rooms throughout the cabin...similar to dorms. As a special consideration for St .Thomas the Apostle, linens and towels will be supplied for basic cabin accommodations.
High school teens will reside in separate dorm-style*** facilities at Basic Cabin rates;
teens are asked to bring their own sleeping bags and towels.

Retreat Master, David Cavalitta*
David is a dynamic and passionate Catholic who loves Christ and His Church. He is also deeply in love with his wife, Brittany, and their two sons. From missionary work and various positions in parish ministry to a director role at Life Teen International, David has been blessed to serve the Church for over two decades. In addition to his speaking ministry, he is the co-founder and brand strategist of the creative marketing agency SEEN + UNSEEN.
