Life Teen — the process of helping teens explore, understand, and build a sense of meaning and purpose — is vital because it directly impacts their emotional, mental, and physical well-being. 1. Builds a Sense of Purpose and Meaning A strong sense of purpose gives teens direction, motivation, and a “North Star”. Research shows that teens with purpose are happier, healthier, and more optimistic, while those without it may struggle with depression, anxiety, low motivation, and feelings of worthlessness. 2. Supports Mental and Emotional Health Purpose is linked to lower rates of stress, better sleep, and reduced risk of chronic illness. It helps teens navigate the emotional turbulence of adolescence, from identity formation to relationship challenges. 3. Encourages Resilience and Growth Life Teen lessons teach teens that failure is feedback, not defeat. This fosters resilience, helping them bounce back from setbacks and keep moving toward goals. 4. Strengthens Relationships and Social Skills Purpose often comes from meaningful connections — whether through community involvement, friendships, or personal passions. Life Teen helps teens choose supportive relationships and develop empathy, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. 5. Prepares for the Real World Life skills education — self-awareness, critical thinking, problem-solving, and emotional regulation — equips teens to handle stress, resist peer pressure, and make informed choices. These skills are essential for academic success, career readiness, and long-term happiness. 6. Promotes Healthy Habits and Self-Care Life Teen also emphasizes health, gratitude, and self-reliance. Teens who understand the value of their own well-being are more likely to maintain healthy lifestyles and avoid harmful behaviors. Life Teen is important because it helps teens find their “why,” build the skills to achieve it, and develop the emotional strength to thrive — both now and in the future. Without it, they may face more challenges in relationships, health, and personal growth.
Life Teen is a Catholic high school youth ministry program. It provides a place for teens to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith and, most important, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.
Core Values
Remain faithful to God - Respond to God’s call and his people - Boldly reveal God’s love
Core Purpose
Our youth ministry exists to make Jesus more available, in order that teens, families, and the entire parish community can become intentional disciples of Jesus.
Goal
Help teens and their families to embrace the Eucharist, to experience and call on the Holy Spirit, all of which is designed for them to establish a closer relationship with Jesus.
Life Teen is a comprehensive youth ministry program with a strong focus on the Eucharist. The goal of Life Teen is to create an environment to lead teens into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. It speaks to teens on all levels: emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual.
Life Teen is on a four-year cycle specifically to make sure all high-schoolers can attend all four years of their high-school career without hearing the same exact topics. So, whether a teen has come before or not, have their Sacraments or not, or even if they’re Catholic or not…they’re welcome to join us for Life Teen!
Life Night - Weekly there is an on-campus event called a “Life Night” open to all high-schoolers. Topics can be catechetical, issue-related, or social. The primary objective is to encourage teens to realize a deeper relationship with Christ and to challenge them to live their faith as they carry out their daily lives. Teens experience this sharing in an atmosphere of love and acceptance from their peers and the adult leaders who are there to assist them in their journey. XLT – Parish sponsored praise & worship event in the church that is open to everyone. There is always great worship music, an inspiring message by a great speaker, and Eucharistic Adoration. Along with Life Nights, this is a great event for teens to invite their friends to come and “check out” youth group. Check the calendar!
Teens and parents are encouraged to visit Youth Ministry.
Parents, Flocknote is the tool the ministry uses to send out specific emails and text notes (safe and compliant).
