María Lilian, known affectionately as Minnis, serves as the Office Assistant for the Religious Education Department at St. Thomas. With a deep passion for supporting the spiritual growth of children, families and parishioners, she plays a vital role in the department’s daily operations.
Born and raised in Sonora, México, Minnis comes from a bicultural background. She attended Catholic schools throughout her education and earned a Bachelor's degree in International Commerce from La Salle University, which is run by the Lasallian Christian Brothers. She has been married for 24 years and has two sons. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring the Arizona desert on walks, listening to music and indulging in chocolate.
Beyond her administrative responsibilities, Minnis is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for families as they navigate their children’s faith formation journey. Whether assisting with registration, providing information on upcoming events, or supporting the team of catechists, she is always ready to lend a helping hand.
A devoted member of the parish community, Minnis is actively involved in several ministries, including the Eucharistic Ministry, Holy Sacrament Adoration and leading the Spanish Rosary at the chapel. She is also part of *El Nuevo Día*, a Spanish-language program within the Loss and Healing Ministry which she leads and facilitates. Grateful for the opportunity to serve the church, she finds great fulfillment in contributing to the spiritual growth of others.
