Deacon Carlos Nagore is a seminarian for the Diocese of Tucson in formation to become a Catholic priest. He was born in Tucson, AZ July 2, 1998. He attended Bonillas Elementary School, Dodge Middle School and Tucson High School where he graduated in the spring of 2016. He then went to Pima Community College for one year before deciding to enter Seminary.
Deacon's home parish is Our Lady of Fatima in Tucson. He began discerning priesthood in my junior year of high school. While in high school he was active in Life Teen group, was an altar server, and also a religious education teacher.
At 19, Deacon entered seminary in 2017 and was sent for college studies at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon where he graduated with a double major in philosophy and literature. He did his post-graduate studies in theology at St. John’s Seminary in CA - the alma mater of our wonderful pastor, Fr. Crino!
Throughout his time in seminary when home on assignments, he was assigned to the Cathedral, Sts. Peter and Paul, St. Joseph’s, Our Lady of Fatima, and Our Mother of Sorrows in Tucson as well as St. Andrew’s in Sierra Vista and Sacred Heart in Nogales. Now, for his first placement as a cleric, both as a Deacon and God willing as a priest, he is assigned to St. Thomas the Apostle.
In his words, "I am so very happy to be here with such an amazing community as was demonstrated to me with how well and beautifully you all celebrated Christmas! I am happy to consider this place now my home and look forward to getting to know you all - my new family. You will all be in my prayers and please pray for me also!"
