Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
This is Jesus' invitation to discipleship in Matthew 11:28-30.

“With "careful prose and a tone of humble striving" (New York Times Book Review), this revelatory first novel by a cloistered monk traces a young man's search for wisdom among the inhabitants of a Cistercian monastery.
In 1973 Paul Seneschal, a shy nineteen-year-old from rural Manitoba, takes flight from the world behind the wrought iron gates of St. Norbert Abbey. Here forty monks grow their own food, wake at three in the morning to pray, and converse largely through a spare but expressive vocabulary of hand signals. Renamed Brother Antoine, Paul strives for wisdom and holiness, yet life within the cloister can't block out all of humanity's foibles. One monk lapses into pyromania; another, a French Canadian, attacks any English-speaker who gets too close; another resembles "a bald Martha Ray." We soon see that even in this rarefied realm, human folly nestles cheek by jowl with the divine. A wise yet refreshingly humorous account of a life of faith, All We Know of Heaven offers an a fascinating glimpse into a quiet world that very few people know about.”

Join us as we discuss Pope Francis’ Let Us Dream: The Path to a Better Future. In the light of the Easter Mystery, we will dream along with Pope Francis about how we can rise up from this pandemic to create a better, more just world.
Session 1: Part One: A Time to See
How do we recognize upheaval in our lives and what that can teach us about the times we are living in today? What needs to be left behind in order “to emerge from this crisis better than before”?
Session 2: Part Two: A Time to Choose
We will explore the choices Pope Francis presents, as he reminds us of our Christian duty to serve others. How do the choices we make affect not only our lives, but those who are most vulnerable in society?
Session 3 Part Three: A Time to Act
Pope Francis shares his blueprint for change, reminding us that we can’t be indifferent to the reality of suffering in the world today. How can we act together to create new possibilities for our communities?

In 2016 Pope Francis released Amoris Laetitia (“The Joy of Love”), his post-synodal exhortation on the theme of “love in the family.” In this three-part series, Karen Brady, MRE, MEd, will lead couples through discussions and reflections based on this groundbreaking document. The sessions will focus on 1) The Nature and Meaning of Love, 2) Contemporary Challenges to Marriage, and 3) and the Spirituality of Marriage. Remembering Pope Francis’ own reflection that growth in love “can only occur if we respond to God’s grace through constant acts of love, acts of kindness that become ever more frequent, intense, generous, tender, and cheerful” (Amoris Laetitia, no. 134), the goal of this series is to help married couples and couples considering marriage to enter more deeply into the mystery of love and how God works in and through those relationships we hold most dear.
The cost for the workshop is $30. The session will be held via ZOOM; register on or before May 3.
